Landscapes, still lifes and other subjects

A Towering Cathedral, 7" x 5" oil on panel. Whimsical depiction based on, of all things, a neighbor's yard ornament.  Available for just $50.

Boxes and Pears by Tracie Thompson, 2008.  Oil on paper, 9 x 9"

Landscape Near Babcock Ranch.  Oil on canvas, 22 x 28".  February 2008.

While out looking for salvage materials I noticed this group of trees in the evening sun, and stopped to photograph them.  That snapshot was the basis for the painting.  This is just off the intersection of Bayshore Road and SR 31 in North Fort Myers.

Noon.  Oil on canvas, 5 x 7", unframed; gallery wrapped edges.  Sold.

This little scrub oak tree was in my front yard in North Fort Myers.  I finally gave in and painted it, right around noon on the first of  February.

River Landscape.  Oil on canvas, 6 x 8."  Unframed; gallery wrapped edges.  $150.  Sold

This small piece began when a student asked me to explain how I had painted the background landscape of the Fighter Pilot salvage piece.  I'm quite fond of these little dusky paintings, have made several and will no doubt make more.

Little Pond.  Oil on wood, 4 x 6", sold.

Trail Drive-In.  Mixed media with acrylic on paper, 6 x 8", December 2005.

This was originally a study drawing for a very large painting.  The sign was on US 41 (known as the Tamiami Trail) in Sarasota.  For this painting I used a photo I took in the early '90s.  Sadly, the sign no longer exists.
